balancing act

Due to some challenging circumstances in my family, God has once again been showing me the need for balance in my life.  Think about it, all in one day we fulfill numerous roles and if any one of them gets out of wack the whole cart gets upset.

First and foremost I am a child of God, then I am a husband and a dad, let’s not forget I am a son as well and I haven’t even gotten out of the house.  I am a Pastor, a counselor, a friend and a boss.  Now I am not complaining, I am just wanting to make sure that I am pleasing the one who made me in each and every role that I have.  And when I take these roles upon myself, well you can just about guess it.  What a mess!

The scripture says that in Jesus we have our being, we live and breathe from the connection we have with our God through our faith in His only Son's finished work on the cross.  I think that is where I get out of balance, the work of life is finished, I must find out how to rest in that.

Yes, all those roles are a lot, but what life comes from those roles.  I am blessed to be part of a spiritually growing community of followers of Jesus. And I am very thankful for those who I can call friends.  I have wonderful children who love me and a wife who has been with me for almost 25 years.

I am trying my best to be in balance, I believe it is how God designed us to live.  If you are out of balance, stop, take a deep breathe and get back into rhythm with God.  He is never out of balance.

Faith

Hello to all who frequent the C3 website.  Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged but life has been taking a lot of my time lately.  I just want to say that even in the midst of storms God is faithful.  He hears us when we cry, He hears us when we laugh and He cares about what is causing both.
In Acts chapter three  there is a portion of  Scripture that says 'And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know.  Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all."  Many people say they have faith in Jesus and yet we walk around all sad and dejected and complaining about all kind of things.  And yet the Scripture says that the faith which comes through Him makes us whole, sound, strong.
My dear friend, we can be whole, we can be strong and sound but we must trust (have faith) in the name of the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father.
His weapons are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds...
I was speaking to someone yesterday and they said this "God can crush this" may we too realize that we serve an amazing and powerful God.  Faith my freind, FAITH.
